Early implementations of TCP/IP were to be found in packet radio setups created by hams in the early days of the internet.
Today an entire "A" class address block has been reserved for the use of hams who wish to experiment with digital modes on radio.
The "class A" address
block (44.0.0.0 - 44.255.255.255) comprises almost 17 million addresses (more than enough to enable the 750,000 or so
amateur radio operators to experiment with new and existing digital modes of communication).
